Description

Citadel Stone’s Black Basalt Sawn 24″ × 12″ × 3cm brings the most authentic surface specification in our basalt range into the elongated rectangular format that defines contemporary architectural paving. The sawn finish is produced by the quarry-cut process itself — the stone as it comes from the quarry saw with minimal subsequent mechanical processing, preserving the natural surface character, subtle blade striations, and authentic quarry texture that distinguish raw-finish natural stone from heavily-processed alternatives. The visual outcome reads as a quiet, matte, naturally-textured surface — more refined than bush-hammered, more raw than honed, and more visually authentic than either. Suited to contemporary residential patios, residential and light-commercial driveways, garden walkways and landscape paving, commercial plaza and architectural hardscape, sheltered exterior applications, and interior floor installations where the natural-finish character is part of the design intent. The 3cm (1-1/4 inch) thickness is the US natural-stone trade standard for premium paving. Quarried from Citadel volcanic deposits in the Middle East — the world’s most weather-resilient basalt source — and prepared in our own facilities. No sealing required for any application. Performs without restriction in every USA climate from tropical to severe cold.

Technical Details
Citadel volcanic basalt source. Our basalt is sourced exclusively from controlled Middle Eastern volcanic deposits that Citadel Stone has worked with for five decades. The structural integrity, density consistency, and colour uniformity reflect that long-term supply relationship. Authentic sawn finish. The sawn surface is the genuine quarry-cut character of the stone, not an artificial reproduction. The blade striations and surface character visible on the finished product are the authentic signature of the quarry process. Cost-efficient specification. The sawn finish delivers the same Citadel basalt material identity, weather performance, and longevity as the mechanically-finished alternatives, at the lowest acquisition cost in the basalt range — supporting larger-scale specifications where total project cost is a planning constraint. Family-coordinated stone specification. The same Citadel basalt is available in multiple formats and finishes — 12″ × 12″, 12″ × 24″, 24″ × 12″, 24″ × 24″, slabs, cobbles, Belgian block, bullnose coping, curbing, in sawn, honed, bush-hammered, polished, and split-face surfaces — supporting whole-project specification with material consistency across surface treatments within the same stone family. Climate-honest specification guidance. Citadel basalt is the all-climate specification with no caveats on the stone itself; the honest guidance on the sawn finish addresses the moderate wet-condition slip-resistance consideration that influences appropriate-application selection. Citadel Stone will recommend the bush-hammered finish wherever the sawn surface is not the right specification for safety considerations. No sealing protocol — practical advantage clearly stated. The no-sealing-required performance is one of the principal practical advantages of basalt over limestone, marble, sandstone, and porous-stone alternatives, and applies to the sawn finish identically to other Citadel basalt specifications. Custom thicknesses on request. Beyond the standard 3cm, this finish is available in 2cm (wall cladding) and 4cm or 5cm (heavy loading) thicknesses for project-specific requirements. Trade support for residential, commercial, and architectural projects. Dedicated trade account programme for architects, landscape designers, contractors, and developers working on residential and commercial projects across the United States, with structured pricing supporting larger-scale specifications. Nationwide US delivery and worldwide shipping. Coordinated logistics to all fifty states and to international destinations, with secure pallet packaging protecting every piece in transit. Escrow payment protection for new clients. First-time customers receive full payment protection through an escrow arrangement, providing complete financial security on the initial transaction. Five decades of natural stone expertise. Half a century of quarrying, finishing, and delivering premium Middle Eastern stone to projects worldwide — depth of experience that translates into reliable specification advice and consistent product quality.
